Seldom Seen Park is now open to the public. The new park is located at 3232 Seldom Seen Road and is home to several athletic fields, multiuse paths and an extensive nature preserve and wetland area. It also features a natural playground and shelter.
(POWELL, Ohio)—A team of assessors from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) will begin their evaluation of the Powell Police Department on Monday, Oct. 12.
Powell City Council approved the extension of the Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) program through the remainder of the year during the last Operations Committee meeting. The DORA will be held from 4-10 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through Sunday, Dec. 27.

This year’s Street Maintenance and Repair Program includes repaving several residential streets throughout the community. Paving is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, Sept. 7, weather permitting.
Powell City Council approved a fuel sharing agreement with Liberty Township during this week’s City Council meeting. The agreement allows police and public service vehicles to use the fuel depot located at the Liberty Township Fire Station.

The first-ever Powell Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) is being planned for noon-9 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 in downtown Powell. A final map and list of participating businesses will be shared closer to the date of the event.
David Betz plans to retire from the City of Powell at the end of June after serving as the City’s Development Director for nearly 28 years.
