Powell City Council approved a fuel sharing agreement with Liberty Township during this week’s City Council meeting. The agreement allows police and public service vehicles to use the fuel depot located at the Liberty Township Fire Station.
The City and Township analyzed fuel consumption and found the potential to save several thousand dollars by working together.
“The City of Powell is a natural partner of the Township geographically,” said City Manager Andrew White. “This is a good example of one effort to collaborate and realize efficiencies for constituents of both local governments. Powell City Council has identified this type of collaboration as a priority in its strategic planning and the administration is actively working to establish it.”
