Planning Director
 
Pay – $115,000 a year (negotiable depending on experience)

This position provides direction, guidance, and management of the Planning Department, which provides professional and technical expertise to inform the land use decisions for public officials, residents, and the development community.
The Planning Director engages citizens to establish and realize a long-range vision for Powell’s land use and established goals to ensure sound urban planning, land use management, and related projects for the City.

Police Officer
 
The City of Powell Police Department is accepting certified applicants for three (3) full-time Police Officer positions.
Testing is currently open for candidates through the National Testing Network (NTN). Applicants obtaining the minimum required score of 70% on the video-based human relations section of the test through NTN will be immediately scheduled for a panel interview. Salary : $72,455.68 – $104,747.27 for the first year of the new contract. Position tops out at $117,715.83 at year three with an 18% increase over the life of the contract (5 steps plus shift differential, OIC, FTO, Retention Incentive pay, and educational incentive pay). Past experience will be considered to start a newly hired employee in an advanced pay step.

Seasonal Recreation Aide – Summer Camps
 
Pay – $16.00/hr. 
Schedule – Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm     
Dates – Flexible start and end dates around May 2024 through August 2024                                                    
 
The City of Powell is seeking to fill five (5) seasonal positions for this summer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is interested in gaining experience for a career in Parks & Recreation. These positions will help staff prepare for and facilitate the City’s Summer day camp programming.  Applicants may also have the opportunity to assist with special events and other Parks & Recreation activities.

Seasonal Parks Technician
 
Pay – $16.00/hr. 
Schedule – Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 3:30 pm with occasional weekend hours and special events       
Dates – Flexible start and end dates around May 2024 through August 2024                                                    
 
The City of Powell is seeking to fill three (3) seasonal positions for this summer. Applicants will perform general landscaping work such as mowing, trash and tree limb collection, and watering flowers in our Parks. Additional duties will include the cleaning and maintenance of restrooms and buildings and helping with the set-up and tear down of City events.

Development Committee – The Development Committee meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. to review and discuss many development related issues before they are forwarded to the City Council.

Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) Housing CouncilThe CRA Housing Council shall make an annual inspection of the properties within the district for which an exemption has been granted under Section 3735.67 of the ORC. The Housing Council shall also hear appeals under Section 3735.70 of the ORC.
