Residents within the City of Powell embrace and wholeheartedly support the children of our community in the pursuit of academic excellence. We can proudly boast that our public and private school systems – the Olentangy Local School District and Village Academy Schools – are both highly revered for their high academic achievement and wealth of extracurricular activities. In fact, we applaud the Olentangy Local School District for receiving the highest rating of “excellent with distinction” on its most recent report card from the Ohio Department of Education.
The Olentangy Local School District currently has more than 20,000 students enrolled – and is among the fastest-growing districts in the country. Today, the district includes four high schools, five middle schools, 16 elementary schools and a preschool program.
Our private schools offer a solid college preparatory curriculum and nurture a student’s individual passion in his or her areas of greatest interest. Village Academy has two campuses in Powell. The main campus on South Liberty Street serves students from kindergarten through grade 12. The campus on Village Park Drive specializes in the education of children in preschool and young kindergarten. Village Academy is proud of its cultural diversity, with an international student population of nearly 23 percent.
Whether you enroll your child in one of our public schools or private academies, you can be comfortable knowing your child will receive one of the best educations available throughout his or her student career.
