Powell’s first DORA planned for June 27 & 28

Shop, dine and explore during the first-ever Powell Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) weekend! The DORA will be held from noon-9 p.m. Saturday, June 27 and Sunday, June 28 in downtown Powell.

The DORA allows licensed liquor establishments in the designated area to sell alcohol at special times that can be carried out of their establishments in specially marked cups.

Things to know before you go:
-While a DORA is in effect, patrons can purchase a drink at an authorized location and walk around inside the DORA boundaries and take a purchased drink into a non-liquor serving establishment if the owner allows it.
-Patrons cannot bring their own drinks into the district or walk with a purchased drink outside the DORA boundaries.
-Patrons cannot take a beverage purchased at one DORA-approved liquor establishment into another DORA-approved liquor establishment.
-Be aware of guidelines and requirements established by businesses – these are not only for your safety, but for the safety of the employees as well.
-Maintain appropriate social distancing.
