Rotary Club Donation Drive

The Olentangy Rotary Club is hosting a collection drive for Common Ground Free Store Ministries through Thursday, Nov. 12. Items can be dropped at the Powell Police Department, located at 47 Hall Street. The lobby is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Leaf Collection

Leaves are collected free of charge by Rumpke during the fall season in the City of Powell. Leaves should be placed in paper yard waste bags or in receptacles marked with yard waste stickers and set curbside along with your regular trash, on Tuesday, the City’s trash collection day.

Seldom Seen Park Now Open

Seldom Seen Park is now open to the public. The new park is located at 3232 Seldom Seen Road and is home to several athletic fields, multiuse paths and an extensive nature preserve and wetland area. It also features a natural playground and shelter. 

Street Maintenance and Repair Program Update

This year’s Street Maintenance and Repair Program includes repaving several residential streets throughout the community. Paving is scheduled to begin the week of Monday, Sept. 7, weather permitting. 

City, Liberty Township partner for fuel

Powell City Council approved a fuel sharing agreement with Liberty Township during this week’s City Council meeting. The agreement allows police and public service vehicles to use the fuel depot located at the Liberty Township Fire Station.

Powell’s DORA Program moves to weekly format, safety measures added

The Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) in Powell is moving to a weekly format through the end of September with enhanced public safety measures.

Powell City Council approved the DORA to be in effect from 4-10 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays beginning this Friday, Aug. 14 through the end of September.

Street Maintenance Program Updates

Scioto and Liberty Street Restoration Scioto Street will be closed from Hall Street to Liberty Street for the re-construction of the Scioto and Liberty Street intersection starting Monday, July 27.
