Statement on the Powell Charter Amendment

The City of Powell announced today that it will not appeal a ruling made by the Federal Court regarding a citizen-initiated Charter Amendment. The Federal Court ruled on Friday, March 25, 2016 that a Charter Amendment approved in late 2014 by Powell voters is unconstitutional.

Lorenz, Bennehoof named new Mayor, Vice Mayor of Powell

Members of Powell City Council selected Brian Lorenz to serve as the new mayor of Powell City Council and Jon Bennehoof as the vice mayor, both serving two-year terms. Additionally, three members of Powell City Council took their oath of office during the first meeting of the year.

Suspects arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery

(POWELL, Ohio)—Feb. 20, 2015—The Powell Police Department arrested Mason Walker, 19, of Ashley in connection to the attempted armed robbery incident that occurred on Jan. 28, 2015 along Village Ridge Court. Powell Police searching for suspect after attempted home robbery

he Powell Police Department is searching for a suspect after receiving a report of an attempted armed robbery at approximately 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 along Village Ridge Court. According to the police report, the suspect rang the homeowner’s doorbell and when the homeowner answered the door, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim.
