The Powell Police Department plans to add extra enforcement at the Olentangy and Liberty Street intersection in order to reduce the number of motorists making illegal left turns during the prohibited time frame.
As of Jan. 1, 2018, the Delaware General Health District will be issuing all plumbing permits and performing all plumbing inspections in the City of Powell. The Health District began issuing plumbing permits for Liberty Township on Dec. 4, 2017.
The Delaware County Engineer’s Office is closing Jewett Road between Liberty Road and the railroad crossing from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30 and Tuesday, Oct. 31 for tree clearing. A roundabout is planned for this intersection.
The City of Powell resolved the lawsuit arising from an unconstitutional Charter Amendment with a payment of $1.8 million. This payment will be made through a combination of funds contributed by the City ($950,000) and the City’s insurer, Great American Insurance Group ($850,000).
The DELCO ALERT system, now available for sign-up on the county’s website, will send text and email alerts for severe weather events, and will send telephone, text and email alerts for emergency events like boil alerts and “shelter in place” warnings.
The City of Powell plans to open the new Murphy Parkway Extension next Friday, Sept. 30 in time for the evening commute. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. next Friday prior to the opening.
