Proposed athletic training facility moved to second reading
City Council reviewed an ordinance to approve a combined preliminary and final development plan for Carney Ranker Architects, LTD. to construct Redline Athletic Facility on Woodcutter Drive.
Redline Athletics is a youth athletic training facility. The second reading for the proposed plan is scheduled for the next City Council meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Underground power easement for Seldom Seen Park approved
City Council unanimously approved an ordinance to grant an easement and right of way to the Ohio Power Company for underground power for the new Seldom Seen Park.
Seldom Seen Park is a 23-acre park site along the north side of Seldom Seen Road west of the railroad tracks. The site is currently under construction and is slated to open later this year. The park will feature several athletic fields, an extensive wetland and a natural playground area.
The next Powell City Council meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 47 Hall Street.
