For the past eighteen months, the community along with the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee have been updating the City’s 20-year-old Comprehensive Plan. Powell City Council adopted the Plan during their Oct. 6 meeting.

Council votes to ban temporary signs – Powell City Council voted 5-1 with one abstention to ban temporary commercial signs and modify what is permitted for permanent signs. The ordinance will go into effect within 30 days. Temporary signs will be permitted for non-profit and government special events.
Powell City Council unanimously approved a resolution determining the sufficiency and validity of a referendum petition to repeal Ordinance 2015-18. This ordinance includes the final development plan for Harper’s Pointe, a single family condominium gated community. Arlington Homes plans to construct 47 single family condominium homes on 8.75 acres off of Beech Ridge Drive.
Powell City Council unanimously approved the final development plan for Harper’s Pointe, a single family condominium gated community. The plan also was unanimously approved by the Planning & Zoning Commission on March 11, 2015.
Council adopts master plan for the City’s ninth park. The master plan for the Park at Seldom Seen was unanimously approved by City Council during the Feb. 3 meeting. The Park at Seldom Seen is a 23-acre park site along the north side of Seldom Seen Road west of the railroad tracks.
