Together Strong, Together Powell
Powell’s small businesses have always been at the heart of our community. Our local merchants, artisans, antique shops, restaurants and more have helped shape our city into a thriving, vibrant place to call home — and now more than ever, they need our help.
As local small businesses face unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are committed to stepping up, standing together, and taking action to help lessen the burden.
The Powell Small Business Grant Program
As of November 6, the City of Powell and the Powell Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) are launching the Powell Small Business Grant Program as part of the “Together Strong, Together Powell” initiative.
The program deploys $200,000 in CARES Act funding to help Powell businesses offset some of the financial impact of COVID-19. Eligible local small businesses can apply to receive a grant of up to $10,000 to reimburse expenses incurred due to the pandemic, including:
-Rent or mortgage payments that were missed in whole or part as a direct result of the Stay-at-Home Orders between March 23 and May 15.
-Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
-Equipment to extend the outdoor dining season including patio heaters, tents, etc.
-Materials and equipment to allow for safe and distanced shopping and dining including barriers, signage, etc.
Businesses that employ 25 full-time equivalent employees or less and operate within the jurisdictional boundaries of the city of Powell. For full eligibility requirements, please see our FAQ page here.
Grants will be awarded on a first come, first serve rolling basis, and businesses are encouraged to apply early!
The Small Business Grant Program is part of our promise to walk alongside our small business community through adversity and provide the support and resources they need.
Together, we are stronger. Together, we are Powell.
