Three Arrests Made in Assault Case

(POWELL, Ohio) – March 27, 2015 – Powell police report that three suspects are in custody after a resident of Landhigh Lakes Drive was assaulted in his driveway around 1:00 a.m.

The victim was walking his dog when he was attacked by two masked suspects with a gun. A scuffle ensued, and the victim was able to get away and call 911.

The suspects fled and were picked up by a third party in a vehicle. The Powell Police Department and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop near the residence based on the description from the victim. A stolen gun was recovered from the suspects’ vehicle.   There had been a previous home invasion at this address earlier this year. Powell police had an active warrant for kidnapping on one of the suspects that was apprehended this morning.

The suspects were Eric L. Smith, age 32, Dennis J. Waddell, age 37, and Tammy L. Wright, age 44. All three are charged with felonious assault and are in custody at the Delaware County jail. Additional charges are pending.
