Suspect linked to multiple forgery cases arrested
(POWELL, Ohio)—Nov. 1, 2017—The United States Marshal’s Office arrested Anthony L. Sanders from Oak Park, Mich. on Oct. 27, 2017 as part of a joint investigation with the Powell Police Department and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
Sanders was living under the alias name of Robert Rogan in Ohio and was a suspect in a criminal investigation in Powell where he used several fake traveler’s checks to obtain gift cards and merchandise.
“The collaborative work with other law enforcement agencies led to the suspect’s identification,” said Powell Police Det. Darren Smith. “We were able to identify Sanders in a larger theft ring around the United States using fake traveler’s checks.”
Sanders had fled from parole in Michigan and had several warrants for his arrest in Ohio, Michigan and Tennessee.
He is being held in the Delaware County Jail.
