SR 750/Powell Road Widening Project Update

The Ohio Department of Transportation – District 6 issued an update on the State Road 750/Powell Road project on Thursday, March 24.

An early spring means crews have already resumed work on State Route 750, more commonly known as Powell Road. The $6 million project that began last fall will reduce congestion and improve safety by:

  • Widening SR 750 to five lanes between Gibson Drive and Old Sawmill Road
  • Building a 10 foot multi-use path on the north side of SR 750
  • Constructing dual left turn lanes at Sawmill Parkway and SR 750 for northbound, southbound and eastbound traffic at the intersection

Timeline

Now until the end of May:

  • SR 750 traffic has been shifted to the north so crews can widen the south side of SR 750
  • Sawmill Parkway is reduced to one southbound lane south of the SR 750 intersection so crews can widen the west side of Sawmill Parkway
  • Sawmill Parkway will be reduced to one northbound lane north of SR 750 for one week
  • The right-in, right-out driveways west and south of SR 750 west and south of SR 750 and Sawmill will be closed one at a time.

June to Mid-August

  • SR 750 traffic will be shifted to the south so crews can construct the north side of SR 750
  • When constructing Galloway Drive, traffic will be detoured to Sawmill Parkway
  • Farmington Avenue will close at SR 750 for one week

Mid-July to Mid-August

  • Crews will work on the east side of Sawmill Parkway, north and south of the SR 750 intersection
  • Sawmill Parkway will be reduced to one lane

Mid-August until September

  • The project team will pave the surface course and install final pavement markings

Please note: prior notification will be given before traffic is impacted.
