The City of Powell is proud to announce the promotion of Sergeant Scott Roach to the position of Deputy Chief of Police, effective June 16. This promotion recognizes Sergeant Roach’s exemplary service, leadership, and dedication to the Powell community and law enforcement profession.
Sergeant Scott Roach began his career with the City of Powell as a Police Officer in April 2005. Demonstrating exceptional skills and a commitment to public safety, he was promoted to Sergeant in June 2007. Over the years, Sergeant Roach has played a crucial role in numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing community relations, improving departmental operations, and ensuring the safety and security of Powell’s residents.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Sergeant Roach brings a wealth of experience and discipline to his new role. He holds a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Systems Analysis from Miami University, where he developed a strong foundation in problem-solving and analytical skills that have proven invaluable in his police work. Furthermore, Sergeant Roach is a proud graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy, an honor that underscores his commitment to professional development and excellence in law enforcement.
Chief, Ron Sallows, commented on the promotion, stating, “Sergeant Roach has been an integral part of our police department for nearly two decades. His dedication to the City of Powell, combined with his extensive experience and education, makes him exceptionally well-qualified to assume the role of Deputy Chief of Police. In his new capacity as Deputy Chief, Sergeant Roach will oversee patrol operations, training, investigations, CALEA Accreditation, and NIBRS/OIBRS reporting. His promotion marks a significant milestone in a career dedicated to public service and protecting the citizens of Powell.
