Powell Police Chief Stephen Hrytzik Elected Section IV Representative of FBI National Academy Associates

Powell Police Chief Stephen Hrytzik was recently elected Section IV Representative of the FBI National Academy Associates (FBINAA), a non-profit, international organization of more than 16,000 senior law enforcement professionals dedicated to providing their communities, states, countries, and profession with the highest degree of law enforcement expertise, training, education, and information.

As Section IV Representative, Hrytzik will represent the chapters of the northeast US, including New England, Connecticut, New York/Eastern Canada, New Jersey, eastern and western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and the countries of the European chapter.

“I am thrilled and honored to receive this appointment in such a prestigious and internationally recognized law enforcement association,” stated Chief Hrytzik. “The training and experience I attain in this role will elevate the national profile of Powell and bring recognition and refinement to the excellent law enforcement agency we have serving Powell.”

FBINAA members are graduates of the FBI’s prestigious National Academy Program and represent all 50 states, 194 countries, and more than 8,200 law enforcement agencies.

About Chief Hrytzik

Hrytzik has been a member of the Powell Police Department since 1991. He was promoted to sergeant in 1995, lieutenant in 1996, deputy chief in 2008, and chief in 2019.

He graduated with honors from Mount Vernon Nazarene University with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College Session 22. Hrytzik attended the FBI National Academy in 2005 and served on the FBI National Academy, Ohio Chapter Board, for eight years.

Hrytzik has been involved in many community service organizations throughout his time with the Powell Police Department. He is vice chair of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police Advisory Services Committee, board member of the Liberty Township/Powell YMCA, past president of the Delaware County Criminal Justice Association, vice chair of Delaware County Emergency Management, chair of the Delaware County 911 Board, past president of the Ohio Chapter of the FBI National Academy Associates, and board member of the Delaware County Department of Job and Family Services.
