Powell Police arrest burglary suspect

(POWELL, Ohio)–March 25, 2017–The Powell Police Department was dispatched on a report of a burglary in progress at approximately 3:22 a.m. Saturday, March 25 on Francine Lane.

A neighbor observed two men taking property from the garage and called 9-1-1. When officers arrived, they were unable to locate the suspects. They began searching the area on foot and located the suspect’s vehicle and observed a set of Titleist golf clubs.

Powell Police set up a search perimeter and contacted the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio State Highway Patrol for assistance.

Officers and deputies located one of the suspects on the back porch of a home and placed the suspect into custody. The suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Thomas Rothwell of Grove City. He remains in the Delaware County Jail.

It appears the other suspect got away from the scene. The case remains under investigation.
