Mayor Dan Swartwout has announced the appointment of David Lester to City Council. Lester will fill the seat recently resigned by former Council member Brian Lorenz, and will serve the remainder of the term through December 2025.
Professionally, Lester is an insurance buyer, providing solutions for clients of all sizes – from small business to real estate developers across the country. He has been a member of the Powell Development Committee for five years, and has also served on the City of Powell’s Planning and Zoning Commission since 2022.
“David’s dedication to the community and passion for development will serve the city well in his duties as a councilmember,” stated Mayor Swartwout. “We look forward to working alongside David and welcome his talents to Powell City Council.”
About David Lester
Currently serving as an insurance buyer for Hosket Ulen Insurance Solutions, Lester is dedicated to being an active member of the communities where he works and lives. In addition to his public service on the aforementioned Powell committees, Lester is a member of the Rotary Club of Olentangy and the Neighborhood Bridges Steering Committee.
He resides in the Kinsale neighborhood in Powell with his wife and two daughters.
