For a few months in late 2012, a unique partnership existed between the elder care experts at SourcePoint and the Liberty Township Fire Department. Called the FIRST Program, this partnership stationed an elder care specialist in a small office at the Fire Department, where she could assist firefighters by responding to the needs of frail, at-risk older people who frequently call 911 for assistance with routine tasks, like transferring from their bed to a wheelchair or taking out the garbage.
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Powell by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR).
In an effort to be more efficient, the Delaware County Board of Elections routinely reevaluates current polling locations and how to better utilize resources. As a result of this reevaluation, the Board of Elections has decided to discontinue using the Powell Village Green as a polling location. Find out your precinct and polling location.

CSX has reopened the Olentangy Street railroad crossing.
The Powell Police Department is hosting the first Coffee with a Cop event at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 23 in the Starbucks at Target, 10560 Sawmill Parkway.
For the past eighteen months, the community along with the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee have been updating the City’s 20-year-old Comprehensive Plan. Powell City Council adopted the Plan during their Oct. 6 meeting.
CSX is making repairs to the Olentangy Street railroad crossing beginning Monday, Oct. 5. The crossing will be closed to through-traffic for up to 10 days.
