(POWELL, Ohio)—Nov. 9, 2021—The city of Powell has hired Melissa Hindman as the city’s new Parks and Recreation Manager.
Melissa most recently served as the Marketing and Community Outreach Supervisor for the city of Worthington. She also served as a Recreation Supervisor for the city of Worthington as well as a Recreation Leader for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department. Melissa has a Bachelor of Science in Education from The Ohio State University.
“We are excited to have Melissa join our team,” said City Manager Andrew White. “Melissa will work with the Parks and Recreation staff to build on programming and events that are offered to the community. Our goal as a city is to continue enhancing the quality of life experience in Powell for our residents and businesses. We believe that providing excellent programs and events is one way to work towards this goal and mission.”
“The beautiful parks, walkability to vibrant shops and restaurants, and the warm and welcoming community members are some of the things I enjoy most about the city of Powell,” said Hindman. “I look forward to partnering with community groups, schools and nonprofits to create new programming, volunteer opportunities and events.”
Melissa and her partner Scott live in Dublin with their daughter Kaiden and English Mastiff Peaches. She currently serves as the PTO President at her daughter’s school. Additionally, Melissa has been a Girl Scout Troop Leader for the last two years and helps coach their U10 softball team.
