Detective Ryan Pentz named Officer of the Year

Congratulations to Detective Ryan Pentz on being named the 2023 Powell Police Department Officer of the Year!

Det. Pentz was recognized for his exceptional performance and leadership in the detective bureau. He has served the Powell Police Department for more than 23 years, with 12 years in the role of Detective. In 2023, he led the investigation for the first homicide case in Powell since 1992, producing an outstanding collaboration between the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Delaware County Coroner’s Office, and the Delaware County Prosecutor’s Office. He also stepped up to the challenge of field training and assisting a new detective, following a retirement.

Sergeant Scott Roach received an award for 10 years of safe driving, and Detective Audrey Wilt was recognized for 15 years of service to the City of Powell.
