Council reviews Comprehensive Plan draft

For the past 18 months, the Powell community has been updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan. This Plan is a roadmap that articulates and details the City’s long-term vision covering topics such as land use, transportation, finance and more.

City Council reviewed a draft of the Comprehensive Plan and will discuss the Plan again during the Oct. 6, 2015 meeting.

Seldom Seen Road annexation approved

An ordinance accepting the annexation of nearly 44 acres at the southeast corner of Seldom Seen Road and Sawmill Parkway for the proposed Powell Grand development was unanimously approved.

Powell Grand is an active adult community and would include one, two and three bedroom units catered toward seniors and empty nesters.

Verona annexation approved

City Council unanimously approved an ordinance accepting the annexation of 113.59 acres from Liberty Township to the City of Powell. The site is slated for The Verona subdivision.

Verona is a proposed single-family subdivision on the former site of Shamrock Golf Club along Powell Road. The site calls for 166 upscale single family homes.
