City Council Meeting Highlights – Aug. 18, 2015

Council votes to ban temporary signs – Powell City Council voted 5-1 with one abstention to ban temporary commercial signs and modify what is permitted for permanent signs. The ordinance will go into effect within 30 days. Temporary signs will be permitted for non-profit and government special events.

City Council Highlights | July 7, 2015

Powell City Council unanimously approved a resolution determining the sufficiency and validity of a referendum petition to repeal Ordinance 2015-18. This ordinance includes the final development plan for Harper’s Pointe, a single family condominium gated community. Arlington Homes plans to construct 47 single family condominium homes on 8.75 acres off of Beech Ridge Drive.

Three Arrests Made in Assault Case

Powell police report that three suspects are in custody after a resident of Landhigh Lakes Drive was assaulted in his driveway around 1:00 a.m.

Update on City’s Salt Shortage

Because of severe winter weather conditions last year and the amount of snowfall to date this season, the City of Powell and many other jurisdictions are facing a salt shortage.

Suspects arrested in connection with attempted armed robbery

(POWELL, Ohio)—Feb. 20, 2015—The Powell Police Department arrested Mason Walker, 19, of Ashley in connection to the attempted armed robbery incident that occurred on Jan. 28, 2015 along Village Ridge Court. City Council Meeting Highlights | Feb. 3, 2015

Council adopts master plan for the City’s ninth park. The master plan for the Park at Seldom Seen was unanimously approved by City Council during the Feb. 3 meeting. The Park at Seldom Seen is a 23-acre park site along the north side of Seldom Seen Road west of the railroad tracks.

Powell Police searching for suspect after attempted home robbery

he Powell Police Department is searching for a suspect after receiving a report of an attempted armed robbery at approximately 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 along Village Ridge Court. According to the police report, the suspect rang the homeowner’s doorbell and when the homeowner answered the door, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim.
