The City of Powell is holding a second Keep Powell Moving Public Workshop from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 47 Hall Street.
The Delaware County Engineer’s Office in conjunction with Liberty Township and the City of Powell, will begin a road project on Sawmill Road beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16. The project will consist of removing the existing asphalt, stabilizing the soil beneath the asphalt and placing new asphalt. All of the construction will be limited to Sawmill Road. The closure is scheduled to last 21 days, weather permitting.
Starting at 7 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, SR 315 will close in both directions between US 23 and SR 750 for a culvert replacement.
The Powell Police Department arrested Edward Green, 19, and a 17-year-old male in connection with recent home burglaries and vehicle break-ins in the City of Powell and surrounding areas.
Armita Plaza, a proposed commercial development in the Historic Downtown Powell District, was unanimously approved by Powell City Council during the July 5 meeting. The final development plan calls for 21,647 square feet of commercial space at the intersection of W. Olentangy Street and Lincoln Street.

The Liberty Township Fire Department will be flushing fire hydrants in the Liberty Township / Powell area beginning Thursday, May 26 and will be completed on or before Thursday, June 16.
