Zoning map amendment voted down by Council
Powell City Council unanimously voted down an ordinance to approve a zoning map amendment for 5.37 acres at 185 N. Liberty Street from City of Powell R, Residence District to City of Powell DR, Downtown Residence District for the proposed The Reserve at Morris Place.
The Reserve at Morris Place was a proposed single family subdivision. The requested zoning change from residential to downtown residential was to accommodate development of the homes south of Adventure Park.
Powell Grand development plan tabled
An ordinance approving the final development plan for Powell Grand (proposed mixed use active adult community located at Sawmill Parkway and Seldom Seen Road) was tabled at the developer’s request.
City Council will review the final development plan during their Dec. 15 meeting.
2016 budget approved by Council
The 2016 budget was unanimously approved by City Council.

Communications – Updating graphic standards
Parks – Pond maintenance, boom mower for ditches and paths and maintaining/replacing aging small equipment
Police – Add a police officer in July, replace an unmarked car
Public Service – Drainage repairs and hydraulic crimper
Information Technology – Body cameras for police officers, copiers and phone system study
