Summer Concert, Market & Fireworks planned for final weekend in June

The traditional Powell Festival will be held as a three-part concert series this year instead of a one-time annual weekend of festivities. The concert series will be held from 6-9 p.m. Friday, June 25, July 30 and Aug. 27 on the McClurg Properties Stage in Village Green Park, 47 Hall Street.

Concerts will be held in collaboration with the Downtown Powell Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) and will feature local food trucks from Delaware County. The city also plans to partner with the Powell Sertoma Club and local brewery partners – The Daily GrowlerNocterra Brewing Company and Ill Mannered Brewery – to host a beer service tent in the park.

Fireworks Display – 10 p.m. Saturday, June 26

One tradition of the annual Powell Festival weekend that will continue this year is the fireworks display. This year’s fireworks display will be launched at 10 p.m. Saturday, June 26 near Adventure Park, 260 Adventure Park Drive. The city encourages residents to watch from home or a nearby parking area.

Downtown Powell Street Markets – 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, Saturday, June 26 & Sunday, Sept. 12

The Powell Chamber of Commerce plans to hold three Downtown Powell Street Market events this year – 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, May 2, Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, Sept. 13. Dozens of artisan vendors will line Olentangy Street and Hall Street. Olentangy Street will be closed between Depot Street and Liberty Street from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. for each market. The Municipal Building Parking Lot will remain open.
