Powell Police searching for suspect after attempted home robbery

(POWELL, Ohio)—Jan. 29, 2015—The Powell Police Department is searching for a suspect after receiving a report of an attempted armed robbery at approximately 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 28 along Village Ridge Court.

According to the police report, the suspect rang the homeowner’s doorbell and when the homeowner answered the door, the suspect pointed a gun at the victim.

The suspect is believed to be a white male and approximately 6’1. He was wearing a black toboggan hat, black jacket, black pants and a blue bandana. He was carrying a silver handgun and drove away from the residence in a dark-colored vehicle.

  • Keep front porch lights turned on at all times 
  • Lock doors 
  • Do not answer the front door unless it is someone you know or are expecting
