Splash Pad in Village Green Park

The splash pad will open for the season on Monday, May 26 at 2 p.m. following the Memorial Day parade and ceremony.

Cool off from the heat of the spring and summer at the Splash Pad, located in Village Green Park. Before heading out to the Splash Pad, please visit the City of Powell on Facebook to make sure there have been no last-minute changes in hours for the day or closings due to inclement weather. Normal hours are 9am-9pm, Memorial Day through Labor Day, but may vary depending on weather, maintenance, or events happening in the park. While you're there, visit the solar picnic pavilion, which provides picnic tables and shade while supplying energy to the Municipal Building. Tables in the Solar Pavilion can be rented out for private events for an additional cost. Visit Facilities Rentals for more information.

Cancelations and Inclement Weather

Class Cancellations

The City of Powell Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel classes due to low enrollment and /or other unforeseen circumstances. In the case of program/class cancellation, you will be notified and issued a full refund in the form of a check. There are no cash or credit card refunds. Refunds take place approximately four weeks to process. When a program or class is canceled due to low enrollment, every effort will be made to notify you 48 hours in advance of the first class. Prepare to attend each class unless you are notified by a city of Powell employee or the instructor of your class.

Wait Lists

If a class or program is full, please join the wait list. If someone on a waitlisted program cancels their registration, or spaces are added to the activity, we will contact the first person on the waitlist by email. Waitlist participants are given 24 hours to respond.  If no response is received within 24 hours or if the participant chooses not to take the spot, the next wait listed participant is called, until the spot is filled.

Refunds

All refunds will be handled on a case-by-case basis and must go through the Parks and Recreation Department. Please email your refund request to gkolp@cityofpowell.us. Participant requested refunds are subject to a processing fee of 10% for courses with a fee greater than or equal to $51. Courses with fees less than or equal to $50 will incur a $5 fee. Since decisions to maintain classes are based on the enrollment at the first session, no refunds are granted after the first session. In the case of class cancellation, you will be granted a full check refund. Please allow four weeks for processing all refunds.

Inclement Weather

Powell Parks and Recreation will maintain normal programming unless otherwise directed. Prepare to attend class unless you are notified by a City of Powell employee or instructor of your class. If Parks and Recreation morning activities are cancelled, a decision on afternoon activities will be made by 3:00pm.
