Changes to Powell's curbside recycling service - new spacious green bins are coming!
During the week of Nov. 4, Rumpke will deliver 65-gallon green recycling carts to all Powell homes at no charge.
These new bins, complete with hinged lids and wheels, will provide a cleaner look, reduce litter and spills, and help make Powell “greener” by allowing residents to recycle more.
Residents who have small red recycling bins may set them at the curb to be collected on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
The new green bins will be collected weekly by Rumpke trucks. To ensure your recycling is collected, please put the opening of the bin towards the street. Place all materials loosely in the green cart. Materials should be fully contained in the cart with the lid closed. Excess recycling should be placed neatly beside the cart. Carts should not be placed in the street. Place them three feet away from the street and any obstructions such as mailboxes, parked cars, utility poles, and other waste containers.
