Work begins soon on the parking expansion at Adventure Park, located at 260 Adventure Park Drive.

Crews with Decker Construction are expected to begin the project on April 7 that will construct nearly 100 new parking spaces adjacent to the Powell Pool.

Powell City Council approved the parking expansion project as part of its 2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).

“The parking addition was planned to help accommodate the growing amount patrons visiting Adventure Park with the new pickleball courts that opened this fall,” said City of Powell City Manager Andy White. “The park is a popular destination in Powell, especially during the summer when the pool is in operation, and we want to ensure that it remains accessible for everyone.”

The project will also include street lighting, fencing, landscaping, and path connections that will improve access to our shared use path system, including the North Depot connection to Adventure Park through Morris Station that is planned for this year.

Approximately 75 percent of the $650,000 parking investment will be funded by a state grant.

“It’s important that we address the needs of our growing community with capital infrastructure that will support that growth and add convenience for residents and visitors,” said White.

Construction at Adventure Park is expected to be finished by Memorial Day weekend.
