Powell Community Garden at Arbor Ridge Park
Residents of Powell who would like to grow fresh produce, establish a sense of community ownership, and meet other Powell neighbors are invited to rent a garden bed at Powell’s Community Garden.
A limited number of 4×8 raised garden beds will be available to rent for the late spring through late fall growing season. Only organic gardening practices will be permitted (organic fertilizer, herbicide or pesticide applications) and initially only one garden rental will be available per family.
Why a Community Garden?
A Community Garden provides a unique opportunity to grow your own produce, donate what you have grown if you wish, and develop a sense of community spirit. A Community Garden brings added beauty to an area, and is recognized by many police departments as an effective crime prevention strategy.
If you would like to register for a garden bed in Powell’s Community Garden, please visit the City’s Municipal Building at 47 Hall Street. The cost is $30 for residents and $60 for non-residents. Upon registration, you will receive a full program description including policies and procedures for the garden.
