Liberty Township Commercial Building Permits

As of Oct. 17, 2019, Liberty Township is no longer using the City of Powell as its commercial building department.

The City of Powell Building Department will complete all Liberty Township commercial building permits in their entirety that were submitted prior to Oct. 17, 2019.

All Liberty Township commercial building permit applications submitted after Oct. 17, 2019 will need to be delivered to the Delaware County Code Compliance Office at 50 Channing Street, Delaware, Ohio 43015.

City of Powell residential and commercial applications will not be affected by this. Please visit here for a boundary map of the City of Powell to determine whether the project is in the City limits or the unincorporated part of Liberty Township.

Commercial building permits and inspections are required for, but not limited to:

  • New Buildings
  • Tenant Space Build Out or Alterations
  • Change of Use/Occupancy
  • Additions
  • Remodels
  • Structural Repair
  • Demolitions
  • Industrialized Units
  • Signs (permanent and temporary)
  • Fire Suppression
  • Fire Alarms
  • Pools
  • Electric/HVAC/Plumbing
  • Gas Fuel Line
