City Council serves as the legislative and policy-making body of the City. Council takes the leadership role to interpret the wishes of the community and provide for the general welfare of the community through programs, services and activities. The Powell City Council is nonpartisan and consists of seven members elected at large that serve 4-year terms. The Mayor and Vice Mayor are chosen by City Council every even-numbered year. The Mayor serves as the presiding officer of all members of Council and is recognized as the official head of the City for all ceremonial purposes. City Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.
