Proposed brewery and pub planned for Grace Drive

Proposed retail center for Murphy Parkway approved

City Council unanimously approved a combined preliminary and final development plan to construct a retail center at the southeast corner of West Olentangy Street and Murphy Parkway.

Left turn ban made permanent by Council

An ordinance to permanently prohibit left turns from 4-7 p.m. Monday-Friday from Liberty Street to Olentangy Street was unanimously approved by City Council.

This decision is another step to Keep Powell Moving – an effort to improve traffic circulation, add parking and increase walkability in the City’s downtown.

Park at Seldom Seen moves to negotiated contract

An ordinance was unanimously supported by City Council to provide for a contracting procedure for the construction of the Park at Seldom Seen.

City Council finds that it is in the best interest of the City that the contractor for the construction of the Park at Seldom Seen be selected through a process of soliciting proposals and/or quotes for construction instead of bids. This approach is the most efficient, cost-effective and beneficial for the construction of the park.

City Council unanimously voted to reject all bids for the Park at Seldom Seen during their Aug. 15 meeting. The bids came in higher than allocated funding for the project.

The next Powell City Council meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19 in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 47 Hall Street.
