The Delaware County Engineer’s Office in conjunction with Liberty Township and the City of Powell, will begin a road project on Sawmill Road beginning Tuesday, Aug. 16.
The project will consist of removing the existing asphalt, stabilizing the soil beneath the asphalt and placing new asphalt. All of the construction will be limited to Sawmill Road. The closure is scheduled to last 21 days, weather permitting.
Once construction begins, the road will be closed to all through traffic. The only traffic that will be permitted on Sawmill Road will be residents that live on the road or are going to a local business.
Cross traffic will be maintained at Grey Oaks/Attucks Drive and Presidential Parkway. There will be intermittent closures to these intersections, one at a time, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Residents that live on the road may experience 30-minute delays while construction is taking place. Adjust schedules accordingly. Work may proceed into the evening hours to minimize the duration of inconvenience.
